Provider Guide

Gmail forwarding setup

Register your Muno Brief address in Gmail, create a focused filter, and confirm the right newsletters are routed.

Important

Keep the global forwarding setting on "Disable forwarding". Use filters to control what gets sent.

We recommend completing forwarding and rule setup on desktop. Some providers do not expose these controls in their mobile apps.

Full walkthrough

Click through the slides to see how to setup forwarding.

1. Register the forwarding address first

  1. Go to Settings, then See all settings, then Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  2. Click Add a forwarding address.
  3. Enter your Muno Brief forwarding address and complete the verification flow.

2. Create your first filter

  1. Click the search options icon in the Gmail search bar.
  2. Add narrow criteria such as `from:newsletter@example.com` or `subject:"Daily Update"`.
  3. Click Create filter.
  4. Enable Forward it to and choose your Muno Brief forwarding address.
  5. Save the filter and send a test email through it if possible.

Strong first filters

  • Forward one sender first, not your entire newsletters label.
  • Start with a sender you know arrives consistently each week.
  • Prefer sender-based rules over broad keyword matching for the first test.

Notes

  • If Gmail prompts you to confirm the forwarding address, finish that step before building the rule.
  • If the address does not appear in the dropdown, the registration step is incomplete.
